What is BBL Broadband Light?
Living in South Florida, it is next to impossible to escape the sun and resultant sun damage. Unfortunately, sun damage affects the area of the body that people notice about you first – your face, neck and upper chest. Thankfully, there’s a skin treatment that knock years off the appearance of your skin and brighten your complexion.
The BBL by Sciton, also known as Intense Pulsed Light or the photo facial, uses light technology to even out skin tone and texture while stimulating the production of younger, firmer skin. It is a safe and effective, FDA-cleared treatment for skin age management and rejuvenation.
The most common BBL treatments include the Forever Clear™, Forever Young™ and Forever Bare™ (we can link to a separate blog post here perhaps)

The light energy delivered by the BBL™ will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen.
This will help restore your skin to its natural beauty, blending its natural colors and making it smoother, vibrant and younger looking. In addition the photothermal energy will target and eliminate many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions.
With the use of filters to change the wavelength of the light applied, the BBL can target a wide variety of pigment colors to address age spots, sun damage, hair reduction, reduce acne flareups and scars and eliminate fine blood vessels near the surface of the skin.
BBLs employs a novel cooling technology to continually and precisely maintain temperatures from 0°C – 30°C with adjustability of every degree in between. This ensures a comfortable treatment for the patient. We also offer the option of a topical anesthetic.

This is painless and typically fades in about 5-10 days. Any bruising may be covered with makeup. Individuals with prominent brown or red color may develop slight temporary swelling for a few days, especially if being treated around the eyes.
BBL™ treatments are designed to provide little down time. Your face may appear red or flushed, something which usually fades within a few hours. Individuals with prominent pigmentation may notice that brown areas become temporarily darker, peeling off in 10-14 days.
